Drive energy-efficiently this summer

 - 31/07/2019

The conditions for driving in summer seem ideal. It's nice and warm but the heat will have an impact on both passengers and the mechanics. It can even mean higher consumption. Here are some tips to control things during the summer months, particularly during long journeys.

  • Check the condition and pressure of the tyres.
  • Check the coolant fluid level regularly.
  • Protect the vehicle interior from the sun when parked and open windows and doors before setting off.
  • Close the windows once you are on the motorways and main roads and only use the air conditioning to keep cool.
  • Whenever possible, avoid exceeding anything more than a 10°C difference between the outside and interior temperature.
